Bear, with his litter sister Brittany, are the youngest members of the Akale pack and he is our special little man. He has the sweetest nature and just loves to snuggle up with you.

With his developing physical maturity Bear’s adventurous spirit is growing such that he now takes on his world with a new found confidence.

His loves to play with his parents and litter sister but it is his Granny Hussy, who at 14 knows Bear has been created just for her comfort and enjoyment. He is her private toy and warm pillow to lay her head on.

Bear has a special gentleness with Hussy and a bond that is incredibly special to witness.

Being full of the joys of life found in youngsters Bear and Brittany constantly give us lots of laughter and also test our patience as they grow up and develop their own special personalities.

Bear is aloof with strangers until he gets to know you then you can't get rid of him. He is just a simple basenji with the brain to match. Or as we call him Pooh Bear as he is a geek.
