Hudson was a
very special man in our lives and sadly was taken from us far
too soon in March 2008. He was a very sick boy and so we made
the hardest decision and said goodbye to him so that he suffered
no further pain. It has been over a year now and we still miss
him terribly and cry when we see a photo of him, or talk about
him.
Hudson’s
achievements are many that we proudly remember -
from his
first stud he produced our brother and sister Grand Champions,
Hunta and Janie.
When he was little he ran across the backyard with all four legs
going in different directions. On seeing his uncoordinated puppy
gait a friend of ours said ''What a Dork!'' and the name stuck
with him for the rest of his life.
The consummate gentleman, Hudson was a pleasure to have around
and always waited patiently for you to feed him. Then subject
to the weather, He would either lie in the sun or come inside
and sleep on his lounge chair.
As he got older Hudson liked to
be left alone by the rest of the pack so that he could enjoy his
own space. Notwithstanding his enjoyment of his own company, he
would often play with his younger companions and enjoying their
company on his terms.
Hudson was 11 years of age
when he sired a litter of three boys. From this
litter we kept Logan who is a living memorial to
Hudson in the things he does and the looks he gives
us – whilst Logan
is with us, Hudson is never far from our minds.
