 Janie is one half of our brother and sister
Grand Champions from our first litter of Hudson to Hussy.
With motherhood came Janie?s semi retirement from the show ring ? after
all her daughter stepped into her footsteps and Janie was more than
happy to settle into being a home body only coming back into the show
ring for the occasional breed specialty and all breeds show.
Janie is an elegant-moving Basenji, whose mood determined just how well
she performed in the show ring. She would show like a dream one day,
and the next day her attitude was all bitch and she wound not perform no
matter how much you cajoled her.
Janie worked out very early on that mum was a sucker for her soft brown
eyes and she got what she wanted because her look was irristable. Janie
truly is devoted to her human mum and dad, loves food, but even better
loves chasing birds who dare to come too close, not that she catches too
many, but she enjoys the chase.
Carrying on in Janie?s paw prints, her daughter Gidget is now a Grand
Champion and also a mother ? carrying on her grandmother?s lines through
her son Logan.
Janie is fully retired from the show ring and enjoys her life as our
special needs basenji as age has not been as kind to her as it could and
her eyesight is not the best. Not that Janie needs clear vision to seek
out the best places in the house to sleep or to be ready and waiting for
her dinner ? her nose can sniff out food without any problems at all.
